Walking around Las Vegas you’d see a lot of ads for the “Largest dispensary in the world” so naturally I had to check it out.

I've been to Vegas a few times before and I'm not sure how I missed the planet-13 dispensary. During this visit, I had a few days and decided I felt like an adventure so I hopped on an Uber from my Strip hotel and decided to document it for you.
The ride from the strip was less than 10 minutes and landed me in a warehouse-looking building parking lot in an industrial area just behind the strip. Planet 13 is no more than 10 minutes walk from Wynn and Treasure Island hotels.

There was a large Red Ball fountain and big signage for “Planet 13”. The armed guard walking the grounds was friendly and didn't mind me taking my time taking photos which I guess makes sense, as Vegas is a tourist destination and all.

Walking in they had a check-in desk like in a hotel! And the size of the place just hits you. It’s like a mini-mall for everything cannabis. They have a coffee shop and you can see some of their processing lines for their edibles, they had Robots making Cannabis-infused chocolates!

I decided to go straight to the main event and head into the dispensary part. After I passed the greeter, the place suddenly opened up into this big open space that I needed a second to take in how big it was.

The entire northern facing wall was an over the top 120 feet long LED Screen wall. With glass displays with hundreds of different products, hugging the walls and the inside of the space.

House Music playing in the background, I could have hung out there for hours looking and exploring the different Buds, and Dabs, and pretty much any cannabis-related product you can think of from concentrates to edibles to topicals to the magnificent all-mighty “Super-Blunt”, which are hand-rolled, and contain Premium Flower+Live Resin Terp Sauce+Indoor Crumble+Indoor Kief! To my dismay, they were out of these puppies on my visit.

Theodor Herzl once said, “if you will it, it is not a legend”. I must say I have not even dreamed of such places. But I'm so happy to see it exists.
The display tables were lined up with some of the crispiest shiny shatters, dabs, and buds. It was quite remarkable.
The only slight id give Nevada is that just like California everything needs to be packaged up and you don’t get to see the actual Batch but rather get a prepackaged product. So the flowers you see on the display are just samples of the final product. Once you pick and order they get it from the back while in Oregon they take directly from the batch and you can see the actual flower you'll be getting.

The staff was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable. I got to speak with the sales manager Teana and a lovely Budtender named Paola.
Teana was a real pro and walked me through some of the product lines and history of the place.
Q & A With Teana
Q: This place is huge, did you start like this?
A: We started smaller, with less than 50 registers, and added 30 new ones during our last big renovations during August and September of last year. We also added more features like our interactive LED screens you can play with and the coffee shop storefront.
Q: Is this a similar coffee shop to the ones in Amsterdam?
A: I know Nevada is slowly in the works to get something like that going. We already set up our own space in preparation for that happening in the future. At the moment They do cannabis-inspired stuff like cappuccino with a little pot leaf on top.
Q: How many locations does planet 13 have?
A: We have a second location in Nevada, it's called Medizine. That's our original brand, you can find flowers out there, we have it on sale for people to enjoy and it’s 20% off on all the Medizine flower as we honor our original brand. We have as we originally started over at Medizine roughly about 6,7 years ago we opened over there first and came right over here that's the name of the dispensary it's still in town here in Vegas.
Q: How come there are no dispensaries on the strip?
A: MGM basically runs a lot of those properties, the casinos must abide by federal rules and regulations, if there is ever a dispensary there it's going to be theirs.
Q: How Many people can planet 13 house? How many people can you serve at a given time?
A: Comfortably we can have about 2 to 3 hundred people walking around. In the whole building, I believe we can have roughly about 700 people at any given time.
Q: How many customers do you serve daily?
A: On an average day we see somewhere between 1500 to 4000 guests.
Q: Do you grow your pot or is it just a retail front?
A: We have 3 cultivations in town, 2 different brands that we grow here + concentrates and edibles. Our flower brands are going to be Trendy and Medizine and we also make vape cartridges all in this building.
After speaking with Teana for a little bit I also spoke with Paola the lovely bud-tender who helped me out with picking a $20 pre-roll with .5 grams of flower and some live resin which was pretty sweet to finish off my trip in Vegas.
Summary -
Planet 13 is a Vegas experience in its own right, I highly recommend a visit even if you don’t consume cannabis, as the place itself is impressive from the robots on the manufacturing line to the product in the displays. Like everything in Vegas doesn’t expect it to be cheap because it’s not. As one of the bud-tenders mentioned, “it’s not cheap to grow quality buds in the desert”.
